Baby Toys for the Credit Crunch

kids pram with paperI do sometime wonder if toys are more for adults than children and if kids would be just as happy things we adults don’t think are very exciting.  This is often seen when babies are more interested in the box than the toy.

The reason I though of this is that my daughter has been facinated with the packaging which was used to send me some bike bits – see photo.  Unfortunately we don’t sell these although many of our products come with free bubble wrap!

An interesting topic with possible social implications. It’s a brave parent or relative who presents a bag of shredded paper as a present! However, from personal experience children who have close interaction with adults in a constructive play environment seem to develop the ability to find interest in everyday objects. Maybe these children have less exposure to television as discussed in an earlier Blog and are able to conceptualise play without recourse to the visual images which (arguably) require less concentration. It would be interesting to establish if children reared in a book loving environment continue with their “book love affair”.

Personally I still love the bubble pack pops!
