Well most organizations do something special for Christmas and this is my contribution.
It is 1909………
HelloBaby headquarters offices are magically transformed back into the Truman brewery, the gas lights flicker outside. Listen to the Hansom Cabs clattering in the streets outside muffled by the falling snow (no change there then!) and the London Peasouper, it is December 1909, pull up your telegraph key and prepare to browse the Edwardian internet for your Christmas shopping. PayPal doesn’t exist yet, but HelloBaby 1909 can accept postal orders, please don’t mail cash.
How about this Spode Edwardian Childrens Dinner Set?

Spode Edwardian Childrens Dinner Set
This is actually a modern reproduction but the pattern is from original plates and shows among others a Hobby Horse, Donkey cart, Whip and Top and a Soft toy. HelloBaby 1909 would naturally carry all of this stock from the most select manufacturers. You’ll note that our listings specifies a special courier service for the Donkey, which is not available for international orders. And yes we are out of stock on white donkeys, sorry about that but they are a pain to keep clean.
As ever HelloBaby carries a wide range of baby prams, travel systems and push chairs.

Mail Cart Pram
This design is loosely based on contemporary Royal Mail Carts. But does not support ISOFIX.
How about an early children’s board game, named for the racehorse Minoru which won the Derby for King Edward in 1909.

The 1909 horse race themed board game Minoru.
The Victoria and Albert Museum of Childhood where I got this from rather stiffly remarks ‘As with quite a number of board games, the main skill it teaches is that of gambling!’ , I rather wonder what they would make of the next item.

Toothache Drops
Troublesome baby teething anyone? Try this*. Our current (2009) top selling teething product seems a little tame but more likely to keep you out of court!
And Finally
Out of ideas? Why not buy one of our wonderful Gift vouchers available in Ten Shillings and Sixpence, one guinea and two guinea denominations.
Finally wishing you all a Great Christmas and a Happy New Year.
*The rather astonishing pharmaceutical content of this post was from an American friend of mine, thanks Sandra!, who sent me an email some months ago entitled ‘Why our Great Grandparents were happier than we are’ . This is posted in several places but does not seem to be well known in the UK, the full text can be found here.
